Rotary of Qualicum Beach International Work

Local Rotarians have traveled to various parts of the world and volunteer to work in the service of others.

Some of the projects served by a number of local Rotarians include Rotary International’s ongoing commitment to rid the world of polio. Visits to parts of Africa and India have been the destination for Qualicum Beach Rotarians administering an oral polio vaccine.

Central American countries have been the focus of other service activities which have improved access to a safe water supply and improvements to sanitation. Like in Guatemala where we funded Aldea Maya funds for the Chuk Muk water filter project. Please enjoy this video that the students of Quchooch Guatemala made to say thank you!

Rotary has education as one of its areas of service and Local Rotarians have carried out projects to improve children’s access to learning materials and literacy. We provided furniture for a school in Puerto Escondido Mexico.

In so many third world countries it is the support of women and their efforts to enhance community living conditions that has driven the service work of of local Rotarians. In Sunyani East Ghana we partnered with other Rotary Clubs on Vancouver Island and helped build a fence and latrines so that girls could go to school safely. We funded a blood fridge for a local hospital in Africa so that they could keep blood products for emergencies.
